Since my last post I have been on a world wind journey I did not expect. As you know I moved from LA to TX this past summer. Well, this was more life changing than anticipated. Just when you think you can handle most life experiences, you quickly learn you are not superwoman, and your move was more than a long weekend visit. I'll spare you all the ins and outs of removing myself from a familiar, comfortable setting I called home - all my life. Don't get me wrong, I love where I am, but I miss people, places I frequented, and most of all - the food. I'm in a comfortable place and my body has recovered from - the change. I messed up not continuing my blog but just couldn't get it together. So that being said, I'll move forward to where I am now with my writing.
Exciting news that is long overdue. I expected Rowing on the Bayou to publish last August. Well, my patience was tested and now on a clearer path. You see, my publisher was also a victim of COVID19, etc. thereby slowing down production. How can one be upset when the world was turned upside down several years? I will not predict the day nor the month, but Rowing on the Bayou is very close to publication.
I am over the top excited for you to read my second story, Rowing on the Bayou. Having lived near the Pearl River for 30 plus years, I couldn't dismiss the bayou story that kept popping in my head. Write it down already, just write it down before you forget what you are creating in your head, so I did. Here is an excerpt and picture from Rowing on the Bayou:
The little brown puppy sat at the front of the yellow pirogue like a very brave scout.
The little brown puppy was the perfect lookout.
I sat near the back of the boat and rowed with my oar to steady our float.
There's an exciting adventure waiting for you to read. I sure hope you'll be on the lookout for Rowing on the Bayou. One thing before I go, Rowing on the Bayou is a sequel to Three Purple Frogs so you may want a refresher read. There is also a third book which takes place in NOLA titled: Around the Bend with Friends. which will make Three Purple Frogs a trilogy. Yah! WOW! Yahoo! Can't wait for you to read that one either. I'm sure there will be more to come, but it's a long process and one that I've wanted for years. It's patience, lots of patience. That's it for now and I'll strive to not mess up again.
